It is my pleasure to introduce myself and welcome you to Soul & Psyche Counseling!

personal outlook

I truly do not believe we are meant to do life alone, and I would be honored to come alongside you through any and all unexpected twists and turns that come your way. Seeking therapy can feel scary or overwhelming, but knowing when to ask for help is a sign of strength.

specialties

As an emerging therapist, I am still exploring and building my areas of expertise. I have had experience treating anxiety/depression, PTSD, grief & loss. Also, I possess certification in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), which is an evidence-based treatment modality for diagnoses such as Borderline Personality Disorder, PTSD, anxiety/depression, self-harming behaviors.

As a Christian, I offer faith-based counseling for those wishing to incorporate spiritual beliefs and practices into their treatment. I will also be learning treatment methods for clients experiencing Psychogenic Nonepileptic Seizures (PNES) under the guidance of practice owner Marci Cyphers and hope to eventually begin treating those with this condition within the next year.

methods and qualifications

I graduated from Spring Arbor University in 2024 with a masters in social work. I completed a therapy internship at Flourish Counseling in Jackson and, before joining Soul & Psyche, worked for Darcie Burdick, PLLC as a clinical therapist. I also completed an undergraduate internship at the AWARE, Inc. emergency shelter.

A strengths-based approach is what I most often implement when applying therapeutic interventions. This means I will empower clients to recognize their strengths and skills, set and achieve realistic goals, and help them realize their true potential.

Certification in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) completed through DBT Institute in 2025, allows me to teach identification and management of intense emotions. DBT focuses on coping strategies like mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness.

There is no fear in letting tears come.
Sadness is a gift to avoid the nothingness of numbness, and all the hard places need water.
Grief is a gift, and after a rain of tears, there is always more of you than before.
Rain always brings growth..
